The arboretum is a showcase of mature and Champion Trees for horticultural enthusiasts. We are fortunate to have an impressive collection of 18 ‘Champion’ trees, the term for the largest examples of their species in Wales. The National Tree Register has listed 15 trees as county champions or country champions. These include notable species such as the Magnolia Campbellii, Magnolia Delavayi, Magnolia Obovata, Podocarpus, Liriodendron (tulip tree), Davidiii (handkerchief tree), and Drymus Winteraceae.
